Government Increases Cocoa Farmers’ Share to 70% of World Market Price

In a groundbreaking announcement made just an hour ago on his official Facebook page, the Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku, declared that the government has decided to exceed its initial 60% proposal and will now offer cocoa farmers 70% of the world market price for their produce.

This significant increase is aimed at motivating farmers, boosting cocoa production, and strengthening Ghana’s position as the world’s second-largest producer of cocoa. The decision underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring fair compensation for farmers and fostering growth in the cocoa sector.

With this new policy, cocoa farmers can expect better earnings, which will likely lead to increased investment in sustainable farming practices and productivity. This move also reinforces Ghana’s dedication to maintaining its stronghold in the global cocoa industry.
