The Chief Executive of COCOBOD, Dr. Ransford Abbey, today concluded the second phase of his regional tour with two significant engagements in the Ashanti Region.
Dr. Abbey began the day by meeting with staff at the Ashanti Regional Office in Kumasi. He urged them to recommit to the core values of excellence and integrity, and to continue providing dedicated, frontline support to Ghana’s cocoa farmers. His address emphasized the vital role staff play in transforming the cocoa sector and sustaining its growth.
Later in the day, Dr. Abbey and his delegation paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace. During the visit, the Chief Executive briefed His Majesty on the current state of COCOBOD and the organisation’s strategic efforts to revitalise the cocoa industry. He also sought the Asantehene’s wise counsel and blessings as the institution works to enhance farmer welfare and boost national production.
This visit marks the conclusion of Dr. Abbey’s four-day working tour across the Brong Ahafo (Bono, Bono East, Ahafo) and Ashanti Cocoa Regions. The tour featured meaningful engagements with cocoa farmers, productive staff sessions, and strengthened collaborations with traditional leaders—demonstrating COCOBOD’s commitment to inclusive development and sector-wide transformation.
